OIKOPOLIS : no borders

22 may 2019 _ It is a real pleasure to meet Dimitris one year after our latest visit to ECOPOLIS (OIKOPOLIS) ... " a world with no violence will prevail and wars belong to the past". This collectif with volunteers, created by Ecological movements, support "human rights, Refugees, Migrants, homeless, LGBT, Animals, Green ...". For a "world of peace, justice, freedom, solidarity".

They are in a building in the center of Thessaloniki with 2 others organization ("Solidarity Now") at each level. They developp many activities for Migrant Families and disadvantaged citizens :

organised Solidarity Meals
distributed clothing, personal care goods, and all things necessary
created together with others COLORS open Kitchen
helped to find a house
proposed lessons for adluts (greek & English)
medial examen, psycosocial

Open 7 days / 7 days, they try to involved people in different activities. For exemple, refugges "must learn to talk, if not they are just looking ..."

ECOPOLIS collaborate with a Refugee Day Center ("Alkyone"). One is for Migrant Families, especially the most vulnerable ones, where they can find basic needs :

1st Level : Food and kitchen (for 100 people daily)
2nd level : Clothing distribution, washing machine, shower (only with an appointment)
3rd level : Psychosocial
4th level : office, administrative activities

Everyone is welcome to take a part in their collective actions.

EVALUATION : what's next ?

25 may 2019 _ The end of the project cominig soon (august 2019). That's why we asked this question to our partners : " If we have to restart our project now, after 2 years of partnership, what we have to keep, to stop and to create, to improve our practices and our collective productions ? ". All the partners participated to this participative evaluation during M4 (transnational meeting 4) in Thessaloniki, on saturday, the 25th may 2019. Many lessons learned. Nanourisma = Lullaby songs

" Pedika tragudia " or only "Nanourisma" ? Both ! Two weeks ago, we talked with Nicoletta & Martha (Musical teacher & university teacher) about the songs wich the students (10 to 11 years) will be recording (maybe the 4th June) at the Polytropon Studio in Thessalonoki. Before, we listened their amazing traditional Romani Songs in their classroom of The 3rd Intercultural Primary School of Menemmi. Guaranted chills. We also participated of the International ROM DAY "Enterlezi" in the school with the others kids, their parents and their teachers. Great moment.
